What I respected the most is how Julie strived to reach her students in such a subtle way. The education system isn’t going to change within a matter of months or years it will take decades to keep the progression of change to take effect. It is the teacher’s responsibility over those years to keep the students best interest in mind. Julie made a great point stating that the laws will have to soften and our minds open. Teacher need to look at the long run and see that everything they do will mold the future even though they do not see the results now. The children are our future and as a teacher it is essential to benefit their education regardless of location, culture or rac e. I’m tired of society placing labels on groups of people and stereotyping city schools to be underachievers. The right knowledge, the right attitude and the right mind frame held by the teachers gives students endless opportunities to achieve. Our system needs to literally pound the message to the school boards that â€Å"the skies the limit† with the right guidance for our students. It was my teachers that made me realize that I wanted to become a teacher and make a difference. They motivated me enough to try and weed them out and not have anymore like them around.
